So QED is over for another year and what a time we had!
After last year, this years QED could not come quick enough. From purchasing the tickets and hotel, the conference could not have come quick enough.
Initially we had only booked the hotel for Friday and Saturday, but looking at SkeptiCamp, we were so excited we booked an extra night so we could get there Thursday night and be ready for SkeptiCamp.
SkeptiCamp
Friday was our first forary into SkeptiCamp, a full day of short/lightning talks delivered by members of the sceptic community. This was the first year we'd ever attended SkeptiCamp, so, whilst there was some apprehension and some odd-sounding talks, we jumped first-first into the day.
The day started at 11am and was made up of 16 talks on a wide range of subjects, from Ancient Apocalypse, Mental Health or Misogyny and ended with a talk on prison escape, given by Emma McClure, who had ran from Liverpool to Manchester to raise money for the Prison Reform Trust.
The day was fantastically organised by SiTP, with plenty of time for Q&A and the speakers were excellent.
Friday Night Quiz
After a full day of fun and engaging talks, the evening kept up with the days fun with a quiz. The room was full (maybe 25 teams) and was a fantastic way.
Quizmaster Ian Hawkins was terrififc, espcially the singing of the song and lyric mashups!
Mixer
The mixer is an informal pre-conference
